U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley paid a visit to Montag Manufaturing’s Emmetsburg, IA facility on Thursday, May 29. The stop was part of his annual 99 Iowa counties tour, and he and his staff decided to make Montag the focus of their Palo Alto County visit. In addition to Grassley’s staff, representatives from the city council were in attendance along with local media, Montag family owners, company managers and employees.

The agenda began with a tour of the facility and followed with a 45-minute Q&A session led by the senator.

“Montag Manufacturing is an impressive family-owned business, and I enjoyed answering employees’ questions,” Grassley said. “They’re working to support farmers through advanced technologies that preserve soil health and improve farming practices. I look forward to sharing their insights with my colleagues in Washington and continuing to advocate on behalf of family farmers and innovators.”

Chuck Grassley is the longest serving U.S. Senator in Iowa history. He was born in Iowa and continues to farm in Butler County, Iowa, one of only two active farmers in the Senate. He is described as having extraordinary work ethic for civic engagement and is hardwired for public service. Serving Iowans has always been Grassley’s guiding light and primary objective, and he uses his “all county” tour as a way to stay in touch with their opinions and needs.
